Why I wrote Branding & Marketing YOU
After a successful launch of Branding & Marketing YOU and a lot of positive feedback about my achievement, I felt really fulfilled. I did however, ask myself why had I focused my attention and made many sacrifices for a solid year on this project?
It then struck me that the reason I had wanted to write the book remained the compelling driver throughout the process. It certainly was not for the money and it wasn’t for the publicity or status. I genuinely wanted to find a creative way of getting my message across – we are all branded and if you don’t take responsibility for branding & marketing YOU, other people will do it for you. A key part of my message was that you don’t have to be a celebrity to brand and market yourself.
I am so grateful to have received feedback about the book. Most the feedback has been around the easy and ‘readable’ structure of the book and the inspiring stories. When I received this feedback from Nishani Ford from Nedbank Corporate Property Finance, I really did feel that the time and financial investment for the book has been totally worthwhile!
“I finished your book last night and want to compliment you on a great piece of work. For me it serves two purposes – One is to highlight the do’s and don’ts of branding and marketing oneself and the second is that it gave me a chair with some of these fantastic individuals in a mentoring space. I felt like I had met them myself and that I had taken from each a unique gift of their story in an authentic manner. I absorbed each page like a hungry sponge. By the time I got to Allon Raiz, I was totally in awe of this great book. It left me inspired and challenged in so many ways.”
If you have read Branding & Marketing YOU, I would love to receive your feedback.
